Treating Grandma’s Foot Pain
When my nana (grandma) began complaining of foot pain, we assumed it was a passing ailment and expected her to “get over it” in a few days and she would be back to normal. She complained of a slight discomfort at first and tried to minimize walking to keep from adding more pain and eventually she was completely immobilized. After speculation of what it could be: Gout, Arthritis, etc… she visited her doctor and was told she was developing a case of plantar fasciitis (Heel Spurs ) where the heel develops extra bone and since the body is not used to this extra bone, extreme debilitating pain is the end result. The doctor told her most cases result in surgery and the immediate treatment was to stay off her feet or use a height quality heel cushion.
Nana tried some from her local drug store but they left a lot to be desired and while the pain was minimized, she was still uncomfortable. She tried using extra thick socks and the most comfortable shoes she could find but the pain remained.
Finally landing on the Bauerfeind ViscoSpot Heel Cushions
and while the initial investment was about $70 with shipping, Nanna could not be more happy. She might eventually have surgery but for now, she is back on her feet and active again. These cushions are clinically proven 95% effective for the initial treatment of heel pain and plantar fasciitis. Made from medical grade silicone for excellent shock absorption. They also have a blue spot with extra softness to support the heel where most contact with the floor is made.
