Pamper Your Feet
We all take our feet for granted. Day in, day out, we wear uncomfortable shoes for at least 8 hours, walk barefoot on gravel or pavement, basically we abuse them. I’m sure you’ve heard that your feet directly affect your body. Each area affecting a different part, well…..this is true. so the better we treat our feet, the better we treat ourselves. It’s easy to neglect your feet but you shouldn’t.
Ways to pamper your feet could be as simple as putting a rich peppermint lotion on them and putting on socks. This will help invigorate them, circulate the blood and moisturize them at the same time. not to mention stimulate your senses and awaken you! Another way is to use an all natural pumice stone daily – you should do this while in the shower or the bathtub. A quick rub over each foot, paying special attention the the heals, balls of your feet and any hard spots you have, will shed dead skin and help circulation. It also keeps them from getting out of control with calluses. Put lotion on your feet once you are finished.
Another way is to pamper yourself at least once a month, and if your wallet approves, maybe more, by going to a salon and having a pedicure. The water soak and foot and leg massage will help you feel relaxed. Not wearing high heels and shoes with narrow toes or shoes that don’t bend easily is also very important. over time these types of shoes will really put your feet under stress and could change the shape of them. Bunions are created from wearing shoes improperly and the wrong types of shoes. Flat-footed people are especially prone. Bunions can be extreamly painful and eventually cause you not to be able to wear shoes with certain shapes or heights. If you are unable to get to the salon for a pedicure or it’s just not in your budget – create your own in-home spa by getting a foot massager/spa tub. Drop a few drops of essential oils in the water to really moisturize your skin. Make sure the water is hot – not too hot, just a comfortable level for you. Soak away and enjoy.
